Wow. I have never seen Playfish backpedal from a feature so quickly, but at least it’s good to know they do listen to their players. In a post on the Country Story forums this morning, a Playfish representative confirmed that, due to overwhelmingly negative feedback, yesterday’s new “Treant” feature would be removed from the game.

“We have been carefully watching your overwhelming amount of feedback about the Treant Feature that we released yesterday,” wrote Playfish. “We understand that a lot of you are not liking it. We will therefore later today or tomorrow remove the Treant feature completely from the game.”

The plan is to re-examine the Treant and see if it can be made more enjoyable. This is good news for Facebook fruit barons, but I doubt this is a complete reprieve. You know as well as I do that mega-orchards are going to get nerfed, one way or another. Stay tuned!
