All the buzz lately is about the new motion controls available for the HD consoles later this year. In this round-up, we’re going to discuss possible bundles for Kinect and Move along with a possible new Xbox 360 Dashboard revision rumored to be launched later this year.
While Microsoft has still yet to utter a word about Kinect pricing, many retailers have already set a price along with bundles to go with it. GameStop has their current price for the base Kinect camera at $150, while Walmart has a new bundle that comes with a game and $30 gift card at $200. If the base Kinect price is $150, then this appears to be a good deal as the games will cost $60 on their own. The Walmart bundle allows you to choose from any of the Kinect launch titles and is set to ship on November 4th.
Back in 2008, the “New Xbox 360 Experience” stunned the console gaming world with its new interface of 3D slanted squares and avatars. Well, perhaps Microsoft did not see it as a complete refinement as Engadget is reporting that new images have surfaced claiming to be from the next revision of the Xbox 360 Dashboard to coincide with the new Kinect motion controller this fall. While it does not look completely new, the interface is no longer slanted, and the font is smaller and different. What other changes come with the new interface are unknown as this is only a rumor at this point.
On the Playstation Blog, Sony announced the first official Playstation 3 Move bundles. The first bundle will be sort of the “full package” deal in that it will include a PS3, Dualshock 3 controller, Eye camera, Move wand controller and the Sports Champions game. This bundle will be $399.99. The other bundles announced were the “PlayStation Move Bundle Pack” which includes the Eye camera, Wand controller and Sports Champions. The other option is simply to purchase the wand by itself for $49.99. The navigation controller, mysteriously missing from all the bundles, is considered optional by Sony and will cost $29.99 on its own.
There is a lot to look forward to when it comes to the console world when these motion controllers release later this year. Are you looking forward to any of them? Let us know in the comments section below.
