Have you already become the master of your Homestead in FrontierVille, removing all of the trees and weeds, and adding buildings to your liking? Have you run out of room, and would like to add some more land to your Homestead? If the answer to the latter is yes, Zynga is about to make your day, as they have released the first land expansion in the game.
Rather than simply being a standard-purchase item in the store, expanding your Homestead is far more complicated, and actually takes you through a series of missions or quests, as is the game’s custom.
First, you’ll need to activate the series of Land Expansion quests by purchasing and activating them from the game’s store. This makes the land expansion a completely voluntary procedure, in that you can purchase the missions at any time, whenever you need the extra land, or just when you feel ready to do so. The set costs 5,000 coins.
The first missions sees you preparing to expand your land, by collecting wood, an axe, and a Lumber Cart. Once that’s completed, you’ll move onto the largest chunk of the mission, the second Land Expansion quest called “Survey the Land.” This quest requires you to visit 10 different neighbors, clear ten total neighbor debris (that is, five each on two different neighbors’ land, as one example, and collect ten Survey Authorizations.
Survey Authorizations are available either by purchasing them for 50 Horseshoes in total (that equates to 5 Horseshoes for each paper you purchase). However, even if you have 5 of the 10 required, you’ll still be asked to pay the total 50 Horseshoes, so you’re better off relying on the other method of accumulating the Authorizations – via gifts from friends.
By clicking on the “Ask Friends” button associated with the Authorizations, you can post a news item to your wall that asks friends to send you one of them. If they agree to do so, they’ll receive one for themselves – it’s a win-win situation.
Once you complete the quests associated with the land expansion, you’ll be able to unlock the ability to purchase the Big Homestead from the game’s store – it expands your land to 29×29.
Once you’ve actually expanded your land, you’ll be able to post a news item to your wall allowing your friends to claim a free item in the form of a Barbed Wire Fence.
Depending on how many active neighbors you have in the game, this could be either a quick or a slow process, so head over to the game’s page on Facebook to get started on expanding your homestead in the game.
