We’ve made a lot of fuss lately about how well Puzzle & Dragons is doing for GungHo Entertainment — $3.5M per day ringing any bells? That’s a lot, of course, but give credit where it’s due; there are some other mobile giants out there who are doing pretty dang well for themselves. Clash of Clans springs to mind, which — along with Hay Day is pulling down a very respectable $2.4M per day for its creator, Supercell. The good news is, while these titans of industry may be fearsome, at least they’re from rival companies. At least they will direct their might at one another instead of at us! The bad news is, Supercell and GungHo have put aside their differences, and now Clash of Clans is going to put game content into Puzzle & Dragons, and we are completely doomed.
Okay? Did you get that? Collaboration between Clash of Clans and Puzzle & Dragons. That’s it. Game over, folks, we’re done here. We had a good run.
From the story on Develop:
GungHo’s hugely popular Puzzle & Dragons will soon feature special content related to Supercell’s Clash of Clans, including a themed dungeon and new monsters, which players will be able to fight and collect.
Clash of Clans and Hay Day meanwhile will feature “extensive” cross-promotions for Puzzle & Dragons.
The special cross-over content will launch on June 24th and will only run for two weeks.
Sure, “only” two weeks. If we live that long.
