iPhone, Mobile

It’s not often you get to save the world by destroying everyone in it, but that’s exactly what Super Mega Worm for the iPhone offers. Thanks to the kind folks at Deceased Pixel, I was able to take a look at the game myself and see exactly what this retro-style game has to offer.

In Super Mega Worm, you play as Wojira, Mother Earth’s last defense against extinction from the human parasites that have invaded earth. It is your job as Wojira to destroy and eliminate all humans possible and become the ultimate destruction machine.

Om Nom Nom

The gameplay in Super Mega Worm is incredibly simple in that you move a slider across the screen that makes Wojira change direction. You also have a “Gas” button on the right side of the screen that makes the worm move faster among other things. You jump into the air and out of the ground and gobble as many humans as possible as Wojira, with not even cows being spared from destruction.

On the top right portion of the screen, you are shown a meter that shows your health which is constantly depleting meaning you must be quick in devouring the human scum. You’re also shown just how many humans you need to devour in order to complete the current level. After completing levels, you are usually introduced to a new type of enemy such as a police car. Vehicles and well-equipped humans are hazardous to Wojira’s health and should be taken care of quickly. As you progress through the game, you will earn additional equipment that add to your arsenal and give you an advantage such as Spit that can take down enemies quicker or even bring down airplanes from the sky.

Overall, Super Mega Worm is a game that is easy to pick-up and play and could have you addicted within minutes (just as I was). If you are interested in checking the game out for yourself, be sure to download it from the iTunes App Store for $2.99.
