Chillingo has released a new gameplay video (which you can see below), along with new game details for their upcoming iPhone shooter Radio Flare Redux.
Redux is a sequel to the 2008 original, and is, first and foremost a side-scrolling shooter that has you battling extraterrestrials to the beat of licensed techno, electronic and house tracks. According to Touch Arcade, the game comes with 33 unlockable levels. To prepare users for the visually stimulating journey that awaits us, Chillingo suggests we become familiar with two words: hyperjump and synesthetic, where hyperjump refers to the “split-second of traveling through hyperspace, where the brain experiences a unique audio-visual sensation,” and synesthetic to the “unity of the senses such as hearing colors and seeing music.”
Radio Flare Redux is set to offer either drag or virtual stick controls, and will allow users to post their top scores to online leaderboards. At the time of this writing, Radio Flare Redux has yet to be released, but it will apparently be hit the iPhone app store in a few days. In the meantime, check out this video of the game in action:
