Cave Run & Surfacer: iPhone Game Reviews

iPhone, Mobile

With so many games being released on the iTunes app store, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with which ones you should or shouldn’t be playing on your iPhone. Thankfully, we have the review round-up to show you the best games available on the app store, complete with summaries and reviews from all around the web.

Cave Run

The title of Cave Run is actually very descriptive of the game, in that you play as an Indiana Jones-esque explorer who must escape a cave before it crumbles on top of him. Playing as a horizontal side-scroller, you must aslo collect as many coins and power-ups as possible on your way out.

In their review of the game, AppSpy called it “a solid horizontal runner and one that can keep fans of the genre happy, but the lack of innovative features counts heavily against the game considering there’s not much to the gameplay to begin with” but that it’s “a fun title for hardcore genre fans or those new to horizontal runners.”

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Price: $1.99.

Surfacer

Sporting a similar style to Jezzball, Surfacer doesn’t bring much new to the iPhone game world. However, the title does sport some unique art and powerful styles. The objective is simple: Fill the screen with the balls that bounce around the screen.

In their review, AppVee said it “is one of the best of it’s kind” despite bringing not much new to the table and that “Overall, Surfacer is a great game to have on your phone.”

Rating: 4 out of 5.
