With so many games being released on the iTunes app store, it’s sometimes hard to keep up with which ones you should or shouldn’t be playing on your iPhone. Thankfully, we have the review round-up to show you the best games available on the app store, complete with summaries and reviews from all around the web.
Much like the Wii game of the same name and concept, Carnival Games is really nothing more than a collection of several carnival-style games that will have you shooting water at clowns, whacking moles or leaping frogs. Your avatar in the game sets out to explore a carnival, finding other carnival goers along with collecting various items that your avatar can then wear.
In their review of the game, Slidetoplay said it “will cheat you, rip you off, and baffle you–so it’s not fair to say that it won’t give you a genuine carnival experience” and that the target audience for the game (kids) will feel they wasted money on the game before long.

Frantic action and time management best describes Plates! As someone in a food assembly line of sorts, you will be squirting sauces into plates as quickly as humanly possible. The idea is to squirt as many sauces into plates as quickly as possible without hitting any dynamite dishes, as that is game over. OpenFeint integration means that you’ll also be able to compare scores with your friends.
GameZebo reviewed the game and said it was “old time arcade philosophy at both its best and worst” and that “Plates! is an amazing arcade game but if you expect a little more than that, let Plates! pass you by on its conveyor belt.”
