Street Fighter IV fans have a reason to celebrate this week, as Capcom has officially announced that the game will be coming to the iPhone this March.
The port will continue the franchise’s focus on supreme graphics, and will apparently contain the majority of the content found within its console brethren. Ryu and Ken are the first two confirmed characters within the game, and according to Slide to Play, several new characters will be added as well.
The gameplay is achieved via a virtual joystick and quartet of buttons, with the system providing for two player local multiplayer (via Bluetooth connection). With a game that can easily become a button masher for the unexperienced, it will be interesting to see how the lack of tactile buttons affects the gameplay experience. For now, though, all we can do is speculate as to which characters will and won’t be making the cut in this version of the popular fighter.
