Burt Shavitz created Burt’s Bees 25 years ago, but even before then, he had been an active member of the environmental movement, having participated in the first Earth Day celebration some four decades ago. As reported by Marketing Daily, to celebrate this 40th anniversary of the Earth Day celebration, Burt’s Bees has created a microsite where users can learn about ways to be more environmentally conscious.

The promotion asks users to “Find their Burt” by uploading a picture or using their webcam and watching their image transform into a likeness of Shavitz, complete with beard and hat. The company is promoting the microsite through their Facebook fan page, where you are encouraged to add your own Burt picture to the page, and view the gallery of already submitted photos.

If you happen to life in or around New York City, you can become an even more realistic version of Burt by heading to Union Square on April 22 (Earth Day proper), where Burt look-a-likes will be handing free Burt beards and hats, as well as free samples of the company’s products.

Head over to the Facebook page or the microsite for more information about how you can find your inner Burt.
