iPhone, Mobile

Ever since playing the original Broken Sword (or Circle of Blood as we called it Stateside) for my PC back in the late 1990s, I have always had a renewed fear of clowns. It’s bad enough that they are how they are, but now I’m constantly worried they will bomb a coffeehouse and lead me to chase down an ancient conspiracy. Now, Revolution Software has released the Director’s Cut of the classic adventure title for the iPhone, and my terrible clown-based fears can follow me everywhere. Thanks.

In all seriousness, Broken Sword is a suitably epic title if you dig adventure games, and Revolution is claiming the director’s cut adds a good 20% to the original. It costs a fair bit more than the typical iPhone app ($6.99), but as you can see from the trailer below, the whole experience is still intact — fully animated cutscenes, terrific visuals, and the entire epic journey.

You might just want to check it out on the App Store, here: Broken Sword: Director's Cut

And then, there was a trailer:
