Frisky Mongoose

As I’ve already told you, location was the main focus of SXSW with both major location based apps Gowalla and Foursquare boasting huge numbers at the event. Well, not only were those two companies fighting for your attention but a new app called Check.In from Brightkite entered the challenge as well.

Check.In is an app that will universally update your location to all of the different services including Gowalla and Foursquare. At that point, I guess it wouldn’t matter which your friends use as they would all be updated at the same time with you only using the one Check.In app.

At SXSW, co-founders Brady Becker and Martin May demoed the app and I have attached the video below so you can see for yourself.
