Zynga updated it’s mob-faring social title today in efforts to control cheating in the game. Mafia Wars has seen its share of cheaters using automated bots to bolster their scores, and honest players are fed up. Apparently so is Zynga, stating in the developer blog today: “We understand that cheating ultimately destroys the integrity of our game and hurts those who play fairly and by the rules. To this end, we recently stepped up our detection and enforcement of botters with the ultimate mission of creating fairer game play.”
Zynga also launched a faster version of Mafia Wars yesterday, which requires a cookie in your browser. It’s not chocolate chip, but Zynga promises the cookie is only intended to increase gameplay speed and will not endanger user privacy.
