In another bit of news from Games.com that I’m simultaneously thrilled and upset about, a few new features have been added to Bejeweled Blitz, the Facebook game which will devour hours of your life in 60-second bites. In a new beta version of the game, players can now collect coins during play from certain yellow gems, and can trade those coins in for limited-use “boosts” in an attempt to drive their score higher.
Each boost, which grants an advantageous feature such as a free multiplier gem, or 5 extra seconds of play, will last for three games before expiring, and costs 3000 coins — about as many as one can expect to earn in 3-5 games. Coins are earned based on score as well as the random drops, so spending coins on boosts can help you earn them back that much faster.
What is wrong with you, Bejeweled Blitz? I’m already addicted to you! You already own a significant portion of my day! Why is it necessary for you to give me more reasons to play you?! Stop it!
If you value your time, you will not try out the new beta version at this link.
