Facebook, Industry, Social

A global community is a goal that Facebook seemingly wishes to accomplish with its move to hire the former CEO of Bebo, Joanna Shields. According to Mashable and DigitalMediaWire, Shields will lead the business development operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Shields is no stranger to internet communities as she helped sell Bebo to AOL and has worked at the Google international sales department. Shields is replacing Blake Chandlee who will now oversee sales in the Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.
