Arcade, Console, Funding, Industry, PC, XBLA

A point of clarification: when the press release’s headline reads “Red Fly Studio and RAW Studios Launch Bad Planet Kickstarter Campaign,” they are not involved in a bad campaign to kickstart the planet. I was confused at first, too; it’s okay. Instead, TriplePoint client Red Fly Studio is running a Kickstarter for a game based on Bad Planet. That, in turn, is based on a planet which is pretty bad, because there’s death spiders. Honestly, I don’t see any planet with death spiders rating anywhere above “okay planet.”

At any rate, Red Fly and RAW are hoping to turn the visceral comic book into “a third-person action game featuring stunning visuals, an episodic format, and brutal melee combat.” Again, death spiders; not sure how the combat wouldn’t be brutal. But you can help crowdfund the effort with your Good Money, in exchange for perks like signed comics, alien sculptures, and a chance to meet Thomas Jane.

From the press release:

If funded, Red Fly will bring the world, characters, and story of Bad Planet to life via the most immersive and interactive of entertainment mediums. A proven and independent developer of video games, Red Fly sees the potential for an epic video game in Bad Planet. Built on Unreal Engine 3 and utilizing a fast, gory, combo-based combat system, the studio will create a bold and gritty action game that will be sure to please hardcore gamers and science fiction fans alike.

Chip in here, unless you’re a Bad Person.
