BackBreaker Football has been downloaded on the iPhone over 1.5 million times, says the game’s publisher NaturalMotion, as reported by Mobile Entertainment.
A little known fact is that the game was originally designed as a sort of preview or teaser for IdeaWorks Game Studio’s console game of the same name, but instead found success in its own right.
“Backbreaker Football has been a phenomenal success on iPhone and iPod Touch,” says Torsten Reil, NaturalMotion CEO, with the game being in a state that is “wildly exceeding our initial forecasts” in terms of sales.
Unfortunately, the game comes in both a paid and free version, with NaturalMotion staying tight lipped about how many copies were “sold” of each. However, even if all 1.5 million downloads were for the free version, it would still show a huge interest on the part of the iPhone gaming community to try their game, which is definitely nothing to scoff at.
If you’d like to add to the 1.5 million downloads total, then use this handy link to get to iTunes and download the game for yourself (link is to the free version). ![]()
