Arkadium’s Mahjong Dimensions launched on Facebook back in January, and since then has seen tremendous growth due to the simplicity of the gameplay, which has resulted in more than 4.5 million games of mahjong being played on a daily basis, and now, a figure of over 1 million monthly active users.
Arkadium is a bit surprised by the success, with Kenny Rosenblatt, chief executive of Arkadium stating in an interview (as reported by GamesBeat) that he “didn’t expect the success to happen so quick. The plan was to take a game from our library, get it on Facebook, build the audience and monetize it.”
Now that Mahjong Dimensions has taken off, however, Arkadium is looking into its library of 300+ games for more titles that can easily be transitioned into a social experience on Facebook.
