Much like Nintendo’s Wave Race series of years past, Aqua Moto Racing 2 looks to expand and push the water racing genre further (just remember to bring your life jacket). Much like the old Wave Race games, Aqua Moto Racing involves you racing to the finish line while guiding your jet ski through certain cones placed throughout the track. Offering both touch and tilt support for controls, it would be difficult to argue that this game isn’t robust.
In Slidetoplay‘s review, they said that the biggest glaring omission is that there is no multiplayer. Most racing games with this much to offer tend to at least contain local multiplayer. They also complained that the game was almost too easy for their taste, but overall was a very enjoyable experience if you only plan on playing solo.
Rating: 3 out of 4.
While Aqua Moto is nothing more than a wet racer, Monorace is a racer-platformer mix. Of course, it’s all done in a 2D fashion and is extremely simple in that you control a “monobike” and try to complete each level within a certain time threshold. There are three characters to choose from but each only has a distinct voice actor, not any sort of gameplay difference.
GameZebo, in their review, said the game was “a great game to play, especially when you don’t have much time on your hands” and that “it’s extremely fast-paced and most of the levels last less than a minute.” Overall, they recommended it.
