Apple Releases iOS4

iPhone, Mobile

The next time you sync up your iPhone and check for an update, you’ll be greeted with the option to upgrade to iOS 4. The software update promises to bring multitasking to those of you with 3GS phones (3G users will not be able to multitask), and a number of other, neat features.

However, one word of warning to those of you that are planning on updating. As TouchArcade reports, developers are scrambling to release iOS 4 compatible versions of their applications. Eli Hodapp of TouchArcade notes that most applications are still working fine for him, though ngmoco has released a statement through Twitter that Eliminate and Touch Pet Dogs have performance issues running on Apple’s new OS.

Anyone know whether you can truly close an app while you are in it. I feel like its dumb that you have to go back to the home screen first, then double tap in order to close an app.
