At the Apple WWDC event, Apple has announced the winners of the Apple Design Awards which awards developers for creating the best apps they can possibly make.

This year’s Design Awards only pooled from the iPhone and iPad app stores, and not the Mac as traditionally done. The following games one Design Awards:

  • Doodle Jump
  • Flight Control HD
  • Pinball HD
  • Real Racing

All of these games are wonderfully designed and play just as well so it makes sense that they would be honored at an event like this. The other non-gaming apps that won awards were:

  • 20 Minute Meals – Jamie Oliver
  • Articles
  • Brushes
  • Financial Times iPad Edition
  • Star Walk for iPad
  • TabToolkit

With the sea of apps out there on both the iPad and iPhone app store, it must take a lot of extra effort to get noticed and having said that I would like to congratulate all of the winners.
