Mafia Wars, Social

Zynga has announced via the Mafia Wars fan page that soon animals will be made a much more important part of the game. While we’ve been able to accumulate animals for some time now, they’ve been treated as any other attack of defensive item. In the near future, though (next week, if all goes as planned), animals will become a “fully-fledged combat item class.”

Basically, this means that when you enter into a fight or robbing scenario, each of your mafia members will be able to bring one Weapon, Armor, Vehicle and Animal into the fray. All previously released animals will automatically be updated to this setting.

To further celebrate the change, this week is Animals Gone Wild week, which sees animals dropping as loot items from jobs, fights, and robbing, so that you may have a chance to stock up on this new combat item type. Head over to the game’s page to start earning some animals of your own!
