AndroidAppADay: Shazam

Android, Mobile

Yes, I did just talk about a music app yesterday but I stumbled upon this new app Shazam today and just had to talk about it. It’s an app that serves just one single purpose but does it extremely well and it shows. Shazam is designed to simply listen to music and identify it based on what it hears.

Now, I’m sure we’ve all been in this type of situation before: Hear a good song on the radio and not sure of the artist or song, a poorly labeled youtube video or something of the sort. Thankfully, Shazam solves this problem and makes our lives just a little bit easier.

I tried the app with several different songs and it managed to identify them all. From Beethoven to Ke$ha, Shazam seems to have it all covered and best of all it’s FREE!

Shazam is currently available on the Android Market.
