AndroidAppADay: Meebo IM

Android, Mobile

When choosing an IM app for your phone, it’s good to have one that is sort of “all-in-one” as in it will connect to all of the major services at once. Meebo IM for Android does just that by combining all of the major IM services such as AIM, WLM and Yahoo!. Also included is Facebook integration meaning you can chat with Facebook friends from anywhere.

The nice thing about Meebo is that you can go to the Meebo web site and sign up for an account, then add all of your IM accounts to that one account. Once they’re all added, all you need is that one sign-in and all of your accounts come with it. I think this aspect of one sign-in is especially important in a mobile environment where sometimes a keyboard is minimal.

Meebo IM is currently available on the Android Market.
