AndroidAppADay: FlyScreen

Android, Mobile

FlyScreen incorporates one single purpose: Fill your lock screen with relevant information that is updated regularly. For that purpose, FlyScreen succeeds due to its integration with several different services. I don’t know of many apps that will allow you to view the weather forecast, post on as well as check twitter, Facebook, check-in on Foursquare and get the latest headlines all at once. FlyScreen does all of those aforementioned things from your lock screen. Oh, and it’s all at the low, low price of free too.

FlyScreen incorporates a widget system much like the Android OS in that you can stick small apps on your screen. When you add a widget to the screen, FlyScreen syncs that data into the cloud allowing you to easily access and manage that information on their website if you wish. It’s all very slick and easy to use and set-up.

FlyScreen is currently available on the Android Market. If you’d like Frisky Mongoose on your FlyScreen (and you should), add an RSS widget to your device and add this address in the URL field.
