Analyst: iPad Now Outselling Mac

Industry, iPad

A computer industry analyst believes that the iPad is now outselling Apple’s line of computers (Macs).

RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky believes that the iPad is selling more than 200,000 iPads per week. With those strong numbers and slaes, the iPad appears to be catching the iPhone 3GS in number of units sold per week quickly.

In that same vein, Abramsky also believes that Mac sales are somewhere around 110,000 per week which is significantly less than the current sales of the iPad. Alternatively, Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray Research said that he “sees no signs of the iPad cannibalizing Mac sales.” Perhaps this is the true ‘third pillar’ that Apple was referring to when the iPad was first announced.
