Meez Nation, an online portal for over 13 million teenagers and counting, recently announced a partnership with AdNectar. The partnership will bring virtual gifting to the website, much in the same way users can send free gifts to one another on social sites like Facebook.
Hot Pocket gifts are just one example of the branded gifts users are now able to send to one another within the game, with Social Times reporting that Meez Nation users have sent double the expected amount of free gifts thus far.
These Hot Pockets gifts will join a lineup of “branded virtual clothing, contact lenses and other accessories for personal avatar use or for gifting to friends.”
AdNectar’s position on Meez Nation comes as no surprise to those in the industry, as the company is responsible for gift giving systems on a wide assortment of social websites like MySpace, Rock You and, yes, even Facebook, with the total amount of gifts sent passing two billion items across all of the company’s networks.
