Facebook, Social

A number of Facebook games have been losing out on active users over the past couple of months, but that could be for any number of reasons: weather, lack of interest, or players have found new Facebook games to play around with. The latter of all those options, at the very least, has a concrete answer.

Over at Gamasutra, the publication ran a story showing the explosive growth in some new Facebook games. In particular, Zynga’s FrontierVille has taken off considerably. The game now has 13.7 million active monthly players, up almost 4.3 million in the past week alone. The next biggest gainer, Playdom’s Verdonia, came in with 2.17 million active users–1.4 million who have taken up the game in the past week. (For an eye-popping 180 percent week-over-week increase)
