A Duo of New App Development Studios Has Been Formed

iPhone, Mobile

According to Develop (as reported by Edge), the iPhone game developers landscape has grown by two companies this week with the announcement of new studios Double 11 and AppStar Games.

Double 11 has been formed by former Rockstar Leeds employees Lee Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar, while AppStar Games is set to be headed up by Activision co-founder David Crane.

Hutchinson and Shepcar worked on games like Grand Theft Auto while with Rockstar, while Crane brings his expertise found while working for iPhone publisher Skyworks, which has around 40 games to its name.

While details about any potential games from either camp are still non-existent at this point, only good things can come from having that much talent in each studio. I can’t wait to see what these guys have up their sleeves for the App Store in the future.
