FarmVille, Social

Last week, we talked about the upcoming promotion between Zynga and 7-Eleven convenience stores, that will see new, limited edition items being added to FarmVille via real-world products sold at 7-Eleven stores across the country.

While the promotion doesn’t officially start until June 1 (see the 7-Eleven website), the first hints of the new items have begun to appear in the game, with the new seed, the Goji Berry, being given a spot under the Seeds tab of the marketplace.

By default, the Goji Berry is locked to all users and clicking on the “What is this?” button brings up the following pop-up, giving us its stats. By purchasing products at 7-Eleven stores, you’re actually being given a license to grow the Goji Berry, in a similar manner to the Sweet Seeds for Haiti, that sees you purchasing a license to grow Sweet Yams.

Here, the Goji Berry costs 15 coins to plant, and grows for 16 hours. After that time, you’ll be able to harvest the berries for 126 coins per square. You’ll earn 2 experience points for each square of the berries that you plant. When looking at seed’s picture in the marketplace, it also appears that there will be room for a Mastery Bar for this crop, although that’s purely speculative at this point.

Do you have a 7-Eleven in your town? If so, do you plan on purchasing these specially marked items to receive free gifts in FarmVille? Or, if you don’t live near one, do you plan on having your online friends purchase them for you? Let us know in the comments!
