100 Rogues is the new iPhone app from Fusion Reactions. It’s an arcade dungeon crawler (or as Slide to Play says, a “roguelike”) that offers gamers a chance to take on randomly generated dungeons comprised of equally random loot and monster locations.
The game’s description in iTunes lets us know that 100 Rogues isn’t so much about completing the game (which sees you facing off against Satan, by the way), but rather about seeing how far you can get before dying.
You have two classes to choose from – human crusader and fairy wizard. As you compete in turn-based combat, you’ll level up, giving either character unique abilities found in their own individual skill tree. The Crusader focuses on melee content, and so earns matching skills, while the wizard is a ranged attacker, and earns new abilities accordingly.
All in all, the game sees you traveling through a five-level bandit hole and the main dungeon proper, which apparently explains why Fusion all-but-confirms your character’s survival is impossible, due to its length.
